"(...) there is a modernist frankness about Scott's work that is more akin to an artist we both admire, Lucian Freud. Freud painted his models with a brutal honesty and used paint to almost sculpt their images on his canvases. Scott's figurative paintings share those two qualities and I still maintain that both Freud and Scott's paintings are beautiful."
