Art Appraising
Gallery 78 has provided appraisals to collections, businesses, institutions, and estates since the early 1980s.
It is important to know the value of your collection for planning purposes and for adequate insurance against loss or damage in order to protect your assets. Insurance companies require that works of art be accurately described and valued in ordered to provide coverage.
Before contacting Gallery 78 for appraisal services, please follow these guidelines:
- Gallery 78 specializes in appraising works by contemporary, Atlantic Canadian artists. If your collection contains works by artists from other eras and/or regions, you may search and filter on this page to find the best fit for you.
- The International Society of Appraisers (ISA) has provided a list of Questions to Ask an Appraiser to make sure that you are being adequately served.
Germaine Pataki-Thériault is the only appraising professional in Fredericton qualified through the prestigious ISA, indicating that Gallery 78 adheres to the highest professional and ethical standards. She offers expert valuation and appraisal services for artworks for insurance, charitable or cultural property donation, probate or family division purposes, and purchase or sales advice.
