"In these works, it would be easy to jump to contemporary art critical concerns and conclusions around voyeurism - the artist's and ours - or to summarily dismiss the works as the objectification of a female subject by a male artist. Experience tells me, however, that no painting is ever painted with a single brush. So instead, I reflect on these quotidian moments and themes of domesticity, work, and leisure and compare them to such moments in my own life."
