This work on thin paper was created by Miller Gore Brittain (1912-1968) in 1954. The lower left of the artwork has the artist's signature (MGB initials) and the year (54).
The artwork features a powerful illuminated portrait created with expressive hatching, dramatic tonal contrasts and warm reddish-brown earth tones, set against a neutral background.
It has been framed with new AR70 glass (70% UV protection with anti-reflection properties) so that you can clearly see the artwork. The moulding is Larson Juhl Colosseum II Titanium 1.5 inches wide and depth of 2 inches. The framed dimensions are 37.5 x 31.5 in.
