This artwork was created in 1987.
The framed dimensions are 36.5 x 42.5 in.
From A Speaking Likeness (written by Joseph Plaskett, published by Ronsdale Press in 1999), Plaskett states,
"If reflections are a signature to my paintings, then so are shadows. If I am preoccupied with light then I must be equally preoccupied with shadows. I try vainly to turn shadows into lights as the Impressionists did, just as I try to turn shadow into colour as the Fauves did...Though shadows is the absence of light, the negative to light's positive, it can exert as much power as does light."
