After having spent most of his professional career in television production management, Scott Jackson now enjoys being a seasonal artisan at Kings Landing. In addition to woodworking, his other creative outlets are painting in oils and writing. His works have been sold through the Isaac’s Way art gallery and restaurant for a number of years. Aside from instruction by Betty Nicholson in local art classes, Scott is mostly self-taught.
Artist Statement
I began making rocking horses a few years ago at Kings Landing. It’s a joy to watch a few planks of wood, some glue, dowel, and a lick of paint transform into a whimsical plaything that children everywhere instantly recognize. These are quality new-construction reproductions of a traditional bow rocker design, sure to become a cherished heirloom in the family nursery or just to brighten up a corner in any home!
