Originally black sheep were considered less valuable, because you could not dye their wool different bright colors like red, yellow or blue, because the wool was too dark.

Today as society slowly evolves, it is easier to be the black sheep in a family, and sometimes it is the right thing to do. You may be standing up for yourself, or for others, or for the environment. Everybody who is considered to be a black sheep by those around them, believes in their own heart, that they have picked a just cause to defend. This can be baffling and frustrating to people who hold completely differing views.

We all need to make an effort to get along, and to be compassionate towards each other. We also need to get off our asses and do some research, it is so easy now with computers. You should not stay in your own echo chamber, and consider that you understand a topic. You should do your homework, and understand where the other side is coming from. Go deep into ‘enemy’ territory, cover your topic from all angles, and then form your own opinion.
