“Have You Read the News Today “
This painting is a commentary on things that have changed over time. The smoker is becoming a thing of the past, the reader of paper copy of Globe and Mail, likewise in Atlantic Canada. Some figures featured show frustration at this change – others confusion. The inscription on the shoulder bag – “Man Smart Woman Smarter” – being carried by the woman – (canvas left) - reflects something of this change. The posters on the central wall, the names attached to the venues, further reflect this idea.
