“Molly Lamb Bobak” by Cindy Richmond, in Molly Lamb Bobak: A Retrospective, published by MacKenzie Art Gallery in 1983 -
“What is vital about the locations of Molly Bobak's life is that they have given her subject matter and her inspiration. They have, in a sense, been her muse. As a result, significant parts of her work, particularly her crowd and urbanscape paintings, provide us with very personal and yet very authentic visions of place, which cut through the homogenizing myths and stereotypes propagated by official versions of Canadian identity. A part of why the locale of her paintings matters is that they remind us of the irreducible plurality of our culture.”
