ARTIST STATEMENT
In this theme “Molecular to Cosmic” my curiosity & imagination have brought me to a place of wonder, of beauty and the celebration of existence. A glimpse into the fundamental nature of reality. As a painter I feel an abstract approach presents an opportunity to visually explore colour & form in a heightened and exaggerated way, that a realistic approach would not allow.
Within the art world the term “abstraction” describes the transformation of something from the “real world”, which in this case that real world is matter and energy, from the subatomic to the cosmic. We humans are somewhere in the middle of this great expanse which stretches from the tiniest component inside an atom to the immense universe.
This recent body of artwork acknowledges & celebrates life & the wonderous reality of which we are all participants.
