Yeon Jung was born in Korea where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture and had worked as an architect in his design office for many years. He moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick, in 2007. He entered in NBCCD and graduated in Jewelry/Metal Arts Program in 2015. During his time in the Advanced Studio Practice program he has focused on storytelling with drawings on metal and the formation of sculptural pieces.
I inherited the talent of my father, who had excellent hand skills as a Korean traditional fashion designer. Due to working hard and the talent, I have been writing, drawing, and making all the time.
I graduated from the Jewellery/Metal Arts Program of the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design in 2015. I came back for the 2017-18 year in Advanced Studio Practice Program. I created many kinds of jewellery and sculpture during these 5 years. My first priority has been to develop the highest quality and most interesting designs possible. I am very interested in sculptural-hollowware and linked jewellery.
